One afternoon Steve felt he might be getting an idea, and this time it was a good one. Steve was going to start a choir.

At least, Steve thought it was a good idea.
(Steve is an appalling singer, seriously)
Steve asked Brad to join the choir, and seeing as he didn’t have anything else on, Brad agreed.
(Brad is also a shockingly horrific, painfully nasty singer.)
Brenda signed up too. Maybe she could give the choir the direction they so desperately needed? She couldn’t.

As the choir gained more members at an alarming rate Brad quietly voiced his concerns to Steve. This Choir was out of control!

Brad was told to get in line.

Brad begged to leave. The choir was an embarrassment.
But Steve was resolute.
Steve had come too far. He’d Worked too hard. The debut concert was about to begin.
Please be seated for the performance.

One of the highlights of my day is “The Otter News”! I love following the adventures of Steve, Brad, and the rest of the gang, and now I want an otter! I know…they aren’t practical and can be quite destructive, but watching some of the videos where they are being loved or their begging for food are charming. Keep up the great work…you keep posting, and I’ll keep “Liking” and retweeting. Btw…I’m a 69 yr old married male cat owner, and my cats are jealous of Steve.
I follow you on Twitter. I love otters – all animals actually – and Steve’s antics always brighten my day! My husband is also amused by that clever little water sausage, especially since he is a Steve too. Literally!
Thanks for all the great posts. ❤
I LOVE Steve from Tucson. AZ.
It’s OK, Steve! Keep trying and everything will come out as you wish. You have good friends!
Enjoy it no end. For this one, earplugs help a little! Please continue…we can use all the ‘lightness’ we can get these days.
This is incredible.
More of this kind of content please, I’m developing an addiction to Steve, Brad and Brenda’s adventures
Adorably fun and funny!
thank you for the effort and time you have put into your website and your twitter account.
you made Steve (and his gang) so lively and lovable, I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up one day at my house asking for financial aid for his latest…..”vision”. I hope there will be many more adventures for him to experience
Hello from New York City, NY, USA.
My wife is an Otter (Lutra canadensis, or North American River Otter). [We know that it’s p.c. to say “Lontra” these days, but we keep the traditional name regardless.] I am a Badger (Taxidea taxus, or American Badger). [Yes, we’re an inter-species couple.] We do so enjoy checking out everything posted to In Otter News on a nightly basis.
We must take issue with the negative characterizations of the vocalizations of the choir. Certainly, the music uses something other than a 12-tone scale, and the rhythmic contortions are painful to follow. However, when one has grown up with such music, one learns to appreciate it. Our daughter is a Beaver (Castor canadensis, or North American Beaver). As she grew up in NYC listening to public radio and otter choral works, she has developed a tolerance for it. She can endure several minutes at a time at this point. It is possible to move from endurance to enjoyment, eventually.
Living in NYC, I believe there’s a market for this kind of music and in fact I believe I can book Steve, Brad, Brenda, and the whole gang for a gig at Carnegie Hall. They’re all welcome to stay with us while they’re doing final rehearsals. Would very much enjoy a dialogue to discuss the above.
Thank you so much for making the world a better place by sharing Steve’s antics.
Regards,
Robert and Susannah, NYC, US.

I’ve sung in choirs for a living, but none of them were anything like this one. Such heart, such soul, I mean really..
Steve is awesome! I am a huge fan and I wish all the news would have a little more Steve in it. :D I come here when I need to get away from all else. Thank you for all you do and all the smiles and Squeeeeeeeeeee’s I get no matter what kind of day it is, Steve and all his angels make it better. Otter: My spirit animal. p.s…The choir is just a squeak away from that platinum hit. Maybe a symphony with the birds? Sometimes the butterflies help them choreograph their dances moves into perfection! No more crew can touch em! :D
You’ve got a book-in-the-making here!
Steve…always on the hustle. His band is gonna get signed by looks alone and he knows it. lol. I would love to see them live :) :) :)
After any particularly stressful day, I come back here to enjoy a quick rendition of “Kyeeeee-eehhhh”
