Tell us about you:
My name is Cassie, and I am an x-ray technologist. I’ve been working in healthcare for over 10 years now, in four different provinces in the country of Canada. I am a virgo.
What’s The Story Behind It?
Otters are my spirit animal. My friends know that if I am having a rough day, to send me gifs or videos of otters. I’m not prejudice – sea otters & river otters are both equally beautiful to me! I have 4 tattoos (so far), and all of them are things that make me happy. Savannah also incorporated my favourite tree leaves into the piece – sassafras!
Who Was The Tattoo Artist?
I received my otter tattoo from the lovely Savannah (www.instagram.com/tattoosbysavannah), who is now retired (unfortunately) from the tattoo business but was working at Lewis Family Tattoo (www.lewisfamilytattoocompany.ca).
I had it done in January of this year, all in one sitting. Savannah is a very talented woman!
Did It Hurt, Were You Brave?
That’s a difficult to answer question. If you’ve ever had a tattoo, I feel the better way to describe them is as “annoying”. Someone is basically scratching off the top layer of your skin because you’re paying them to. It’s a very weird but enticing situation! My one smaller tattoo that’s just lyrics didn’t hurt, but when you get a larger piece that requires 3+ hours of sitting time, your skin starts to heal throughout it. And then the lovely tattoo artist has to go over certain spots with white ink… you do want to physically hurt them by the 3+ hour mark for sure haha. Love you, Savannah, but I told her that I wanted to hit her when we were at the 4hour mark and she was into the white ink work. Zero regrets about the tattoo – one regret of not eating prior to starting as I also became hangry!
Anything Else You’d Like To Say?
Otters are beautiful. Otters are perfect. Otters make me insanely happy, which is why I started following your IG page! Thank you for the daily contributions especially in this current COVID19 world pandemic.
